We are seeking an experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team immediately. In this role, you will lead the development and customization of WordPress sites, focusing on theme development, custom development, and bespoke coding solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, capable of delivering high-quality, scalable websites that meet client needs. This position requires working in US timezones to ensure seamless collaboration with our team and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes from scratch, ensuring responsiveness, performance, and compatibility across devices and browsers.
• Handle custom development tasks, including building plugins, integrating APIs, and creating bespoke functionalities tailored to project requirements.
• Perform custom coding in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related technologies to extend WordPress core features and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients to translate wireframes and requirements into functional WordPress sites.
• Optimize websites for speed, SEO, security, and scalability, including troubleshooting and debugging issues in existing setups.
• Conduct code reviews, implement best practices for version control (e.g., Git), and ensure adherence to WordPress coding standards.
• Stay updated with the latest WordPress updates, plugins, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience as a WordPress Developer, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Proven expertise in theme development using frameworks like Underscores, Genesis, or custom starters.
• Strong proficiency in custom development, including plugin creation, REST API integration, and WooCommerce customization (if applicable).
• Advanced custom coding skills in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (including jQuery and React), HTML5, CSS3 (with preprocessors like SASS/LESS), and AJAX.
• Experience with performance optimization tools (e.g., caching plugins, CDNs) and security best practices (e.g., firewalls, SSL).
• Familiarity with front-end build tools like Gulp, Webpack, or Composer for dependency management.
• Ability to work independently while aligning with US timezones (e.g., 9 AM - 5 PM EST availability required).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a portfolio showcasing relevant WordPress projects.
• Must be available to join immediately—no notice period preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with headless WordPress setups using technologies like Gatsby or Next.js.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser testing.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms like AWS, DigitalOcean, or WP Engine.
• Prior work in agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
