SRO Roving Camp Host -Temporary

The Scenic Rivers Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service to park guests while supporting daily operations, ensuring compliance with park rules, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of facilities. This role requires regular travel between locations and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Check campers in and out, including collecting and processing applicable fees
• Provide accurate information to guests regarding the area, including floating the Illinois River, campsites, and available activities
• Collect fees from unpaid campers in designated areas
• Perform routine and minor maintenance tasks to support park operations
• Distribute supplies such as trash bags to guests as needed
• Sell private day-use wristbands and annual decals to floaters
• Assist in monitoring and restocking the life jacket loaner program at public access areas
• Help enforce park rules and regulations in a professional and consistent manner
• Operate a vehicle to travel between park locations and public access areas to perform job duties

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days for Oklahoma residents with an out-of-state license

Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions
• Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as part of daily job duties

Additional Information:

• Position is based out of the Scenic Rivers Office in Tahlequah, OK
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
