Job Purpose
To be responsible for conducting detailed simulations and analysis to support Energy Trading Activities. The role involves using advanced energy modeling tools to calculate electricity quantities and prices for power trading.
Responsibilities
- Perform simulations using energy modeling software (Plexos or Promod) to calculate electricity and fuel quantities and forecast prices for different timeframes (yearly, monthly, daily, and hour-ahead)
- Conduct ex-post analysis to assess trading outcomes and identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain trading models to support cross-border electricity transactions.
- Develop comprehensive project plans for the Energy Export Program, including scope, schedules, resources, and cost estimates.
- Prepare operational plans and phased execution plans, and regularly update them as required.
- Implement roadmaps and ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the program.
- Coordinate planning activities with relevant entities and stakeholders to ensure integrated and aligned plans.
- Coordinate with the system operator, regulator, and relevant stakeholders to align trading plans with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance of project plans with applicable regulations, policies, and requirements related to the energy and export sector.
- Prepare and analyze planning scenarios and assess their impact on schedules, costs, and risks.
- Support change management by analyzing the impact of proposed changes on approved plans.
- Develop planning-related performance indicators and monitor their achievement.
- Prepare and submit simulation results for forecasts and performance review, and periodic planning reports for submission to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning methodologies and project management tools within the program.
- Support the development of long-term and short-term trading plans in line with market dynamics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 6 years of hands on experience with energy modeling software, specifically Plexos or Promod, and project management, preferably within the energy sector.
- Professional certification in PLEXOS or PROMOD, and project management or planning such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent.
