Role: SST / EVS Teacher (CBSE School)
As a Social Science (SST) / Environmental Studies (EVS) Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school, you will play a key role in helping students understand society, history, geography, civics, economics, and environmental awareness. Through inquiry-based learning, discussion, and real-life connections, you will foster critical thinking, responsible citizenship, and environmental consciousness among students.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured SST / EVS lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Teach subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Environmental Studies (as applicable to the grade level).
- Simplify concepts using maps, charts, case studies, projects, storytelling, and real-life examples.
- Encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, inquiry, and discussion-based learning.
- Promote values of citizenship, social responsibility, cultural awareness, and environmental sustainability.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through worksheets, assignments, projects, presentations, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Integrate technology, digital tools, audio-visual resources, and interactive platforms to enhance learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary lessons, activities, and school initiatives.
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support or enrichment opportunities as required.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Organize and participate in activities such as debates, quizzes, exhibitions, field visits, and awareness programs.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, academic performance, and behavioral development.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training programs, school events, and professional development activities.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, assessment patterns, and best practices in SST / EVS education.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching certification recognized by CBSE.
- Proven experience teaching SST / EVS at the primary/middle/secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school (preferred).
- Strong understanding of the CBSE SST / EVS curriculum and assessment methods.
- Ability to present social and environmental concepts clearly and in an age-appropriate manner.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology, digital platforms, maps, and multimedia resources.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence.
- Passion for teaching social sciences and nurturing responsible, informed, and environmentally conscious learners
