Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Istanbul, Türkiye

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant with proven experience in the full accounting cycle to join our high-performing team in a long-term capacity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strict attention to details, a proactive approach, and a strong desire to contribute to the ongoing success of our organization. This position also requires someone who is solutions-driven and a team player that can collaborate with other teams in the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

For Accounts Payable:

• Receive, verify, and process vendor and supplier invoices
• Code invoices for accuracy and proper account allocation
• Review and approve of employees’ and contractors’ travel and expense reports according to company policies and reimbursement procedures

For Accounts Receivable:

• Generate and submit sales invoices to clients
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue invoices
• Maintain accurate financial records for revenue recognition and support the integrity of the AR ledger

For Treasury:

• Prepare and execute payments to vendors and suppliers in accordance with internal controls and timelines
• Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly
• Record cash collection received and match with sales invoices
• Manage cash flow to ensure timely payments while optimizing cash reserves

For Payroll:

• Record payroll transactions including benefits
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and payroll regulations

For General Ledger:

• Involved in month-end closing activities, including reconciliation, accruals, and adjusting entries if necessary
• Prepare and file tax returns, and make tax payments

Additional duties as needed:

• Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and workflow efficiency
• Assist in the annual audit request
• Comply with internal control procedures on a day-to-day basis
• Perform other accounting/finance duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or Accounting
• 2+ years of Accounting, Finance, or related work experience
• Bilingual in English and Turkish
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
• Exceptional attention to details
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Experience in financial systems including Salesforce and SAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Outlook and Excel
