Qualifications
Training and Experience
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience
Education, Licenses and Certifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Primary Routine Work
Daily / Weekly
- Record journal entries (cash, accruals, reclasses)
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Process accounts payable (AP) invoices and coding including weekly check run
- Assist with accounts receivable (AR) postings and cash applications
- Maintain general ledger (GL) account activity
- Support expense report review and validation
Monthly Close Support
- Prepare standard month-end journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, etc.)
- Roll forward schedules (e.g., prepaid expenses, accruals)
- Assist in variance analysis vs. prior periods
- Update supporting documentation for audit trails
Administrative / Compliance
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Assist with quarterly sales tax / indirect tax filings
- Year end 1099 data collection and filing
Non-Routine Work
- Assist with external and internal audits (PBC schedules, support requests)
- Research accounting treatment for unusual transactions
- Participate in process improvement initiatives (automation, standardization)
- Support system implementations or ERP enhancements
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis for management requests
- Assist with budgeting or forecasting data preparation
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unreconciled items
- Support special projects (e.g., mergers, system migrations, policy updates)
