Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing various accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance by documenting procedures and testing controls.
- Utilize financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, and other systems for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Participate in budgeting, financial analysis, and audit preparations while maintaining meticulous records for governmental or non-profit accounting as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or pursuing CPA is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with familiarity in technical accounting concepts.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles along with experience working with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data entry, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, journal entries and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent math skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.

Pay: $60,329.25 - $72,654.59 per year
