Staff Accountant

Ritz Safety is committed to providing convenient and cost-effective safety products to industries worldwide. With seventeen nationwide locations, we are expanding our team and seeking a Staff Accountant for our Dayton, OH location. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will handle core accounting functions including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL) reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and month-end close activities. This position reports directly to the Controller and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
• Perform daily Excel-based tasks, including downloading files from banks or suppliers and uploading into the system.
• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger maintenance.
• Reconcile daily cash transactions and ensure accurate cash postings.
• Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
• File monthly sales tax returns for multiple states.
• Assist with other accounting duties and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, summing, and sorting).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Prior experience with P21/Epicor software is a plus.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
