Staff Accountant

SHR Talent is partnering with an accounting services organization in Birmingham, AL in its search for a Staff Accountant to add to a growing team.

This organization supports a growing portfolio of multi-site restaurant and hospitality concepts and is seeking an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and ongoing client accounting support across multiple entities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close activities across multiple client entities
• Review and finalize financial statements
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations and troubleshoot discrepancies
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Support financial reporting deadlines and close schedules
• Communicate with operations teams and internal stakeholders regarding financial questions
• Assist with process improvement initiatives and workflow optimization
• Manage accounting responsibilities across multiple client locations simultaneously

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferred
• Experience with month-end close activities, strongly preferred
• Exposure to bank reconciliations, journal entries, and Accounts Payable processes
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience highly transferable
• Microsoft Dynamics and Great Plains experience, preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
• Self-starter capable of working independently in a remote setting
