Job Title: Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable

Pay Rate: Starting at $60,000 Annually
SUMMARY
Responsible for daily accounts payable, delivering deposits, and day-to-day operations of the finance department. Performs other related duties as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain manual purchase order system in accordance with documented standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Maintain separate accounts payable ledger for capital expenditures invoices and expedite invoices through the approval process and timely payment.
- Interfaces and cooperates with other departments within the organization as well as volunteers, vendors, and banking institutions.
- Research and respond to calls, emails, and inquiries.
- Process approved invoices for payment and issue checks weekly.
- Process and monitor positive pay.
- Responsible for the collection of corporate credit card receipts and entering the charges into the accounts payable module.
- Assist the Finance Coordinator – Accounts Receivable with the handling of cash per documented SOP.
- Completes monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines.
- Provides supporting schedules for the interim and annual independent financial audit.
- Prepare concise Excel spreadsheets as requested by the Finance Director.
- Supports the development staff for fundraising events as needed.

- Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the insurance carrier
- Must have a vehicle for transportation to meetings and events
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge, Blackbaud Raisers Edge, AvidXchange, and QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel, is essential to this position.
- Must be a critical thinker who can effectively identify and evaluate problems, display sound judgment in resolving problems, and know when it is appropriate to ask for help
- Not-for-profit accounting is highly desirable
- BS in Accounting (or Finance) and 1-3 years of related accounting experience.
- Detail-oriented and accurate
