Staff Accountant for Retail Clothing Stores

We are seeking a motivated, Bilingual in English and Spanish detail-oriented, and self driven Staff Accountant to join our team at our business office in Somerset, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a accounting professional looking to gain hands on experience and grow within a dynamic small business environment.

Our company operates four special occasions clothing boutiques throughout the Northeast and has been helping families celebrate life's most important milestones for over a decade. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and closing procedures
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Review and enter invoices, bills, and vendor payments
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and record keeping
• Monitor expenses and help identify cost saving opportunities
• Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
• Assist management with financial analysis and special projects & requested reports
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Work closely with ownership and management team on day-to-day financial operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with QuickBooks or accounting software is a plus
• Bilingual English Spanish
