Role Overview

The Staff Accountant & HR Support role is a hybrid position responsible for supporting core accounting functions while also assisting with HR administration and people operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working across finance and HR in a structured, fast-paced environment.

This position supports execution — not policy-making — and works closely with leadership to keep financial records clean and employee processes compliant.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial records
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Assist with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
  • Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and reviews

HR Support & People Operations

  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Assist with payroll coordination and data entry (in partnership with PEO/payroll provider)
  • Maintain employee files, records, and HR documentation
  • Track benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Assist with compliance tracking (I-9s, certifications, training records)
  • Support HR reporting and internal documentation

Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with operations and leadership to ensure accurate data flow
  • Support process improvements across accounting and HR functions
  • Assist with system maintenance (QuickBooks, payroll systems, HRIS)

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or HR support
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred

  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Experience working with PEOs or payroll platforms
  • Exposure to multi-entity organizations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
