Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with expertise in NetSuite to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with regulatory standards. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will contribute to maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes using NetSuite accounting software.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of transactions.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist in financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting activities to support organizational financial health.
- Mentor junior team members on accounting best practices, technical accounting issues, and the use of accounting software like QuickBooks, Net Suite, Miter.
- Manage accounting in NetSuite
- Job costing and project tracking
- Support billing (T&M, lump sum, SOV/progress billing)
- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end close
- Track budgets, costs, and change orders
- Support AP/AR and financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role with a focus on corporate accounting.
- Extensive experience working with NetSuite ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is required.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance standards, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and governmental accounting regulations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial report writing, analysis, and data management; experience with other financial software such as QuickBooks, Miter and NetSuite is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Strong attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for clear financial report interpretation.
