STAFF ATTORNEY

PUBLIC UTILITIES PROJECT

Rhode Island Legal Services, Inc., a statewide program with its principal office in Providence, seeks a staff attorney to work in its Public Utility Project (PUP), a Project of RILS’ Financial Stability Center.

Responsibilities: The Public Utility Project is seeking an attorney that is highly motivated to work in consumer protection issues and to assist in resolving the interests of consumers in utility disputes. The position has a particular emphasis on the interests of low-income and fixed-income residential customers (including seniors and the disabled).

Qualifications: Admitted to the Rhode Island Bar, the bar of any state or a graduate of a law school accredited and approved by the American Bar Association and the Board of Bar Examiners and a willingness to take the next Rhode Island Bar examination.

Salary: Commensurate with relative legal experience in accordance with Union Contract. Excellent fringe benefits.
