This newly created role will play a key part in supporting our teams across the organization to meet their employee engagement and retention goals.
Schedule and Location

The majority of work is completed Monday through Friday during general business hours on-site at the Johnston location. Occasional travel to support engagement activities at our locations in Ames, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City will be required, but no overnights.
What You'll Do
As the Staff Engagement Coordinator, you'll help create an environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and connected. From organizing events to implementing initiatives that boost morale and enhance workplace culture, you’ll have a direct impact on the experience of our staff.

Plan, budget, communicate and facilitate organizational staff engagement events, including but not limited to, Staff Week, Thanksgiving meal, tenure celebrations, and staff appreciation cook-outs.

Assist with staff and leader communications. Create engaging articles and resources for leaders and staff on top human resources priorities. Continually develop and support the human resources SharePoint site (intranet) with educational resources.

Partner with Staff Relations Specialists to assist services with executing engagement action plans. Assist with service and/or location specific staff engagement initiatives at all locations, as requested. Provide support to the HR team and initiatives.
- Provide friendly and professional first-line service to customers (staff, candidates, volunteers, vendors, and others) regarding human resources topics/processes.

Prioritize to ensure deadlines are consistently met. Professionally handle regular interruptions and multi-task a variety of responsibilities. Ensure a high degree of accuracy, and regularly review completed work to support high-quality outcomes.

Partner with human resources staff to ensure administrative needs are met. Order supplies for the department and organizational engagement materials.
What You'll Need

Associates degree, or equivalent experience in a human resources or event planning role.

One year of professional administrative work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking, preferably in human resources.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Ability to become an approved driver and maintain a driving record that meets facility and insurance approval.

Ability to travel to ChildServe locations in the Des Moines metro, Ames, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language.
