Staff Forensic Accountant

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive forensic examinations of financial records, including general ledger analysis, account reconciliation, and transaction tracing using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, and other financial management tools.
• Analyze complex financial data to identify irregularities, fraud schemes, or misstatements related to securities law violations, governmental accounting discrepancies, or non-profit accounting issues.
• Prepare detailed financial reports that interpret findings clearly for legal teams, auditors, or regulatory agencies.
• Assist in the investigation of financial crimes by applying knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and accrual accounting standards.

Most of DeLuca Advisory Services’ work is with public sector agencies and many of DeLuca Advisory Services’ staff have experience in working in the public sector.   In addition to the work being done in Philadelphia, DeLuca Advisory Services also has led other compliance engagements, acted as an independent monitor of government contractors and performed investigations and forensic audits. DeLuca Advisory Services’ leaders are an experienced group of professionals that have frequently worked with one another throughout their careers.

DeLuca Advisory Services is looking for an entry level Forensic Accountant to join our growing team. Accountants are vital to our work and participate in nearly every client engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in performing risk assessments on client projects and vendors.
• Conduct forensic analysis of financial data.
• Prepare forensic accounting reports from financial findings.
• Assist in providing supporting audit services on new and existing assignments.
• Participate in advisory engagements.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Perform the day-to-day activities of projects including interaction with client personnel, team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
• Deliver a high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Experience in data analysis and the preparation of spreadsheets.
• High level of initiative, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.

• Ability to work well within a team environment while accomplishing individual projects.

Professional Experience Required:

• A minimum of Bachelors’ Degree required in accounting, forensic accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA / CFE or working towards CPA / CFE preferred.
• Advanced analytical and issue resolution ability and problem solving is essential.
• Proficient with PC environments and related software, including all Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel.

Salary commensurate with experience. DeLuca offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes health insurance coverage with employer paying portion of selected plan, vision and dental insurance coverage, unlimited paid time off (with manager’s approval), and opportunity to participate in 401k, Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Account and other programs offered through payroll provider. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for annual performance-based bonuses. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
