Position: Staff Mechanical Engineer
Location: Portland, OR
Position Description:
We are seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in product design and development to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in mechanical product design, with demonstrated success taking concepts from requirements definition through prototyping, testing, and production. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the design and fielding of next-generation C-UAS products.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptable, eager to learn, and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products
  • 12+ Related work experience design, analysis and testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with 3-D CAD tools such as SolidWorks and PDM tools
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries.
  • Knowledge of military/aerospace standards and ruggedized system design practices e.g. MIL-STD-810G.
  • Hands-on experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or thermal analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing, injection molding, and lightweight structures.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking products from concept to production.
Education: Bachelor of science degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  • May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
Other Requirements:
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.
Salary: $175,000- $185,000 annually
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
