Roles of a Staff Nurse

  • Care Provider – Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Advocate – Safeguard patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Educator – Provide health education to patients, families, and communities.
  • Coordinator – Collaborate with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare team members.
  • Manager – Maintain safe, clean environments, manage supplies, and ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Communicator – Act as a link between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Leader – Guide nursing assistants and support staff in patient care.

Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse

  • Patient Care
  • Monitor vital signs and health status.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist in daily living activities (feeding, bathing, mobility).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Clinical Duties
  • Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergencies.
  • Provide wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
  • Observe and promptly report any changes in patient condition.
  • Safety & Hygiene
  • Follow infection control protocols.
  • Ensure a clean and safe patient environment.
  • Manage equipment sterilization and proper disposal of medical waste.
  • Patient & Family Support
  • Educate patients and families about treatment, medication, diet, and lifestyle.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and relatives.
  • Address patient complaints or concerns empathetically.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Maintain stock of medicines and supplies.
  • Prepare reports and handovers for continuity of care.
  • Follow hospital rules, ethical practices, and legal requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
