Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and reports.
- Assist doctors during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
- Perform wound care, IV therapy, injections, and other nursing procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly to physicians.
Patient Care & Support
- Ensure patients’ hygiene, comfort, and nutritional needs.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Provide emotional support to patients and attendants.
- Assist in patient mobility and rehabilitation.
Administrative & Compliance Duties
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols as per hospital guidelines.
- Follow hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards (if applicable).
- Ensure proper documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Manage medical supplies and equipment usage in the ward.
Teamwork & Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, paramedical staff, and other nurses for smooth patient care.
- Train and guide junior nurses, interns, or nursing assistants.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuous training programs.
Emergency & Critical Care
- Respond quickly to medical emergencies and perform basic life support (BLS) / advanced life support (ALS) if trained.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, or critical interventions.
- Support emergency codes (e.g., Code Blue, Code Red).
