Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients across OPD, IPD, ICU, and Emergency departments while supporting doctors, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining hospital standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Nursing Services

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in OPD, IPD, ICU, and ER.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake-output, and patient condition.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed.
  • Assist doctors during examinations, rounds, and procedures.
  • Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.

2. ICU & Emergency Responsibilities

  • Handle critical and emergency patients efficiently and calmly.
  • Monitor patients on ventilators, oxygen therapy, monitors, and infusion pumps (ICU nurses).
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code situations.
  • Prepare patients for emergency procedures and surgeries.
  • Report abnormal findings immediately to doctors.

3. Medication & Treatment Administration

  • Ensure right patient, right drug, right dose, right time, right route.
  • Maintain medication charts accurately.
  • Observe and report adverse drug reactions.
  • Store and handle medicines as per hospital policy.

4. Infection Control & Safety

  • Follow hospital infection control protocols and standard precautions.
  • Maintain hand hygiene, PPE usage, and isolation precautions.
  • Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic patient environment.

5. Documentation & Records

  • Maintain accurate nursing notes, treatment charts, and patient records.
  • Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and NABL/NABH compliance (if applicable).

6. Patient & Family Education

  • Educate patients and attendants about medications, procedures, and care plans.
  • Provide discharge instructions and follow-up guidance.
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.

7. Equipment & Ward Management

  • Operate and maintain nursing equipment safely.
  • Check emergency trolley, oxygen supply, and crash cart regularly.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Ensure availability of ward supplies and consumables.

8. Coordination & Teamwork

  • Coordinate with doctors, lab technicians, pharmacists, and support staff.
  • Follow instructions from nursing supervisors and consultants.
  • Participate in ward meetings, training programs, and drills.

9. Professional Conduct

  • Adhere to hospital rules, shift duties, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain punctuality, discipline, and professional behavior.
  • Attend training, CME programs, and skill-upgradation sessions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • GNM / B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid State Nursing Council Registration mandatory.
  • 3–5 years experience in hospital settings preferred.
  • ICU / ER experience is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
