The Staff Nurse (ICU & Emergency) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in Critical Care Units and Emergency Department. The role involves continuous patient monitoring, emergency response, clinical documentation, infection control compliance, and adherence to NABH standards, hospital policies, and clinical protocols.

2. Key Responsibilities:

A. Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and emergency patients as per physician’s orders and nursing protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, and patient condition continuously.
  • Assist in emergency procedures such as CPR, intubation, defibrillation, and trauma care.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and blood products safely.
  • Maintain accurate nursing records, charts, and reports (ICU & ER documentation).
  • Ensure timely assessment and reassessment of patients.

B. ICU & Emergency Management

  • Handle ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, and emergency equipment efficiently.
  • Provide pre and post-procedure care for critical patients.
  • Attend medical emergencies and code blue situations promptly.
  • Maintain crash cart readiness and emergency drug checklist.
  • Coordinate with doctors and multidisciplinary teams during emergencies.

C. Infection Control & Patient Safety

  • Follow strict infection control protocols and universal precautions.
  • Ensure hand hygiene and biomedical waste management as per NABH guidelines.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques in all procedures.
  • Prevent hospital-acquired infections (HAI).

D. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain patient files, nursing notes, consent forms, and treatment records.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH standards and hospital policies.
  • Report incidents, medication errors, and patient safety events as per protocol.
  • Participate in audits, training, and quality improvement programs.

E. Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and attendants.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and care.
  • Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth patient management.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing (Mandatory)
  • Registration: Valid Nursing Council Registration
  • Experience: Minimum 1–3 years experience in ICU and Emergency Department (Hospital Setup)
  • Certification: BLS / ACLS preferred

  • Ability to work in rotational shifts & emergency situations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
