Staff Nurse 3- School Health

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Purpose of the Position:

To support and deliver comprehensive school health nursing services in line with the Public Health Protection Department’s strategies. The Staff Nurse 3 will be responsible for delivering preventive, promotive, and responsive health care services to students in private schools across Dubai, ensuring alignment with national health policies and DHA standards.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of school health programs in coordination with the School Health Section and partner schools
  • Contribute to the development of school health policies, procedures, and related program documentation
  • Coordinate and monitor immunization services, including planning, data collection, follow-up of due and overdue cases, staff orientation, and reporting in alignment with the national immunization schedule.
  • Participate in immunization campaigns when required and support logistical coordination with relevant teams.
  • Coordinate and support school-based screening campaigns such as oral health, vision, hearing, and scoliosis
  • Conduct and support the planning and delivery of health education activities across the school community
  • Conduct supervisory visits to assess compliance with DHA school health standards, licensing requirements, and infection control protocols; prepare reports and monitor action plans
  • Maintain accurate records using designated systems and contribute to data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and support the management of common and chronic student health issues, including supervision of individualized healthcare plan (IHCP) development and follow-up
  • Provide training and orientation to school health staff and guide school nurses on DHA policies, clinical best practices, and emergency preparedness
  • Deliver and support awareness campaigns targeting the school community on various health-related topics
  • Manage communicable disease notifications, including investigation, contact tracing, documentation, and coordination of necessary actions
  • Respond to queries, incidents, and complaints from schools and coordinate with relevant DHA departments for timely resolution
  • Support the evaluation and reporting of school health indicators and performance metrics
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with DHA health, safety, and information security regulations
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Section
Technical Competencies
  • Conducting school health assessments and screenings, including vision, hearing, oral health, and BMI evaluations
  • Planning, administering, and monitoring vaccination programs, ensuring cold chain compliance, and managing follow-up of adverse events
  • Maintaining and auditing student health records with accuracy and adherence to data standards
  • Ensuring preparedness and effective response to medical emergencies within school environments
  • Planning and delivering health education and promotion initiatives tailored to the school community.
  • Utilizing electronic medical record systems, Microsoft Office, and DHA digital platforms for accurate documentation, data management, and communication

Qualifications


Bachelor Degree in Nursing

Valid professional nursing license is mandatory and must be maintained throughout the period of employment


Required Minimum Qualification:


4 years of experience in related field
