Job Title: Staff Nurse – Cath Lab

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role ensures patient safety, prepares and monitors patients, assists cardiologists during procedures, and provides post-procedure care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization, angiography, and interventional procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist cardiologists and Cath Lab staff during procedures by handling instruments, medications, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning and sterile maintenance of Cath Lab equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging systems.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and contrast agents under physician guidance.
  • Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring recovery, managing complications, and patient education.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, procedure logs, and documentation in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Educate patients and families about post-procedure care, medications, and follow-up schedules.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and radiation protection protocols within the Cath Lab.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; experience in a cardiac Cath Lab or critical care is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures, and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and provide compassionate patient care.
  • Proficiency in monitoring equipment, patient assessment, and documentation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods during procedures.
  • Capable of assisting patients and handling medical equipment safely.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Familiarity with catheterization lab protocols and sterile techniques.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or arrhythmias.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kadur, Karnataka
