Industry: Healthcare — Acute care and critical care services (Inpatient ICU / Tertiary hospital setting). Sector: Clinical nursing for high-acuity adult and paediatric patients in an on-site intensive care environment.
Primary title (standardized): ICU Staff Nurse
Role & Responsibilities

Deliver direct bedside critical-care nursing to ICU patients: monitor vital signs, assess clinical trends, and execute physician-directed treatment plans.

Manage mechanical ventilation and support physicians in ventilator setup, adjustments, weaning protocols, and troubleshooting.

Provide invasive-line management including central venous and arterial line care, perform/assist arterial blood gas sampling, and maintain line-related documentation.

Administer and titrate inotropes, vasopressors and other IV medications safely; observe for adverse effects and escalate per protocols.

Lead emergency response actions (code blue/resuscitation) following ACLS algorithms and hospital emergency protocols.

Maintain accurate ICU documentation (shift handovers, medication records, care plans) and uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
-
GNM or B.Sc Nursing (or equivalent) qualification

Registration with State Nursing Council (India)

Proven ICU / critical care nursing experience (on-site, rotating shifts)

Competence in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring

Competence in arterial blood gas interpretation and central line care

Certifications: ACLS and BLS (or equivalent)
Preferred

Post-basic Diploma in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent speciality training

Experience with EMR / Hospital Information Systems and sepsis bundle implementation

Familiarity with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) or advanced ICU monitoring modalities
