Staff Nurse Internship

The Staff Nurse Intern will work under the supervision of senior nursing staff to gain practical exposure in patient care. The internship program is designed to provide hands-on training in clinical practices, hospital protocols, and patient management in a multi-specialty hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior nurses in providing bedside care to patients (hygiene, comfort, mobility, feeding support).
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration).
• Support in administering prescribed medications under supervision.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining patient case sheets and nursing records.
• Learn and assist in wound dressing, IV line care, catheterization, and other basic procedures.
• Accompany and assist patients during diagnostic investigations (lab, radiology).
• Provide support during emergency and critical care situations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in wards, including infection control protocols.
• Handle wheelchairs, stretchers, and patient shifting with care.
• Communicate courteously with patients, relatives, and healthcare staff.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Final-year B.Sc Nursing / GNM students OR recently qualified nurses awaiting registration.
• Basic knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.

Duration:

3–6 months (depending on hospital policy)
