job Summary

The LDR Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to mothers during labour, delivery, and recovery. The role ensures patient safety, emotional support, and adherence to clinical protocols.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Clinical Care

  • Provide care to antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal mothers.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal vitals (FHR, contractions, BP, pulse).
  • Assist obstetricians during normal deliveries.
  • Prepare the mother for labour, ensuring aseptic techniques.
  • Manage LDR equipment such as CTG machines, delivery sets, suction, warmer, etc.
  • Support newborn care immediately after birth.
  • Administer medications as per doctor’s orders.
  • Document labour progress on partographs.

B. Patient Safety & Infection Control

  • Follow all infection control policies and hand hygiene practices.
  • Maintain sterile field during delivery procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of delivery room and instruments.
  • Monitor for complications (PPH, fetal distress, preeclampsia, etc.) and escalate immediately.

C. Communication & Patient Support

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and families.
  • Educate mothers on labour signs, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum care.
  • Coordinate with doctors, anesthetists, and NICU teams when required.

D. Documentation

  • Record all nursing interventions in EMR/notes.
  • Update delivery registers, consent forms, and medication charts.
  • Maintain accurate records of newborn details.

E. Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Check and ensure functionality of delivery equipment.
  • Maintain stock of emergency drugs, delivery kits, and consumables.
  • Report equipment malfunction to biomedical/maintenance team.

3. Skills & Competencies

  • Strong labour and delivery nursing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of obstetric emergency management.
  • Good communication and patient-care skills.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
