Key Responsibilities & DutiesClinical & Patient Care
- Provide basic patient care (bathing, feeding, toileting, changing linen, mouth care, etc.).
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report deviations.
- Assist in admissions, transfers, discharges, and documentation of patient care processes.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, under supervision, as per physician orders / standing protocols.
- Assist in wound dressing, catheterization, enema, specimen collection (urine, blood, stool), etc.
- Prepare patients for procedures, surgeries; assist during procedures as needed.
- Ensure infection control practices (hand hygiene, sterilization, proper disposal of waste).
- Provide post-operative care, monitor patient recovery, report complications.
- Assist in emergency care and resuscitation under supervision.
- Participate in rounds with physicians, follow new orders and ensure execution.
Ward / Unit Management
- Maintain cleanliness, order and safety in ward/unit.
- Ensure stock of supplies, consumables, drugs, and replenish as needed (within permitted level).
- Sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment.
- Assist / supervise support staff (attendants, housekeepers) in ward tasks.
- Take shift handover and maintain continuity of care.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely logs, charts, and patient records.
- Record intake/output charts, drug administration records, special charts (if applicable).
- Report any changes in patient condition to senior nursing staff / physician promptly.
- Participate in audits, quality assurance programs, and compliance with hospital policies.
Education & Training
- Attend in-service training, workshops, continuing education programs.
- Learn new techniques, protocols, and technologies in nursing practice.
- Assist in orienting new trainees / student nurses (as experience grows).
- Educate patients and their families about care, post-discharge instructions, health promotion.
Compliance & Professionalism
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and standards of nursing practice.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, privacy at all times.
- Uphold ethical and professional nursing conduct.
- Follow safety procedures, manage risks, report adverse events / incidents.
- Comply with infection-control, waste management, and regulatory norms.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Licensing
- Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) from a recognized institution.
- Registered (or eligible to register) with the State Nursing Council / Nursing Regulatory Body
Job Types: Fresher, Internship
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹35,242.51 per month
