Responsibilities
- Provide analytical solutions, using advanced NMR techniques to challenging research problems associated with process development of polymers and small organic molecules; analyse polymer degradation products, identify unknown impurities and interpret complex data to support product failure analysis.
- Be in charge of running and maintaining the NMR instrument, driving method development activities, training and coordinating technicians.
- Document and publish results and patent findings as appropriate alongside completion of a project.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills as an integral part of multidisciplinary project teams, actively collaborating with technology teams to support process development, new product development, and manufacturing issue resolution.
- Drive multiple projects simultaneously and use relevant statistical tools to evaluate results and inferences.
- Contribute to and further promote a high culture of safety in the laboratory and on site.
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements
PhD degree in Chemistry, Polymers or Material Sciences with years of hands on experience in handling NMR instruments and an in depth understanding of the application of NMR for structural characterization of polymers and small molecules in an academic or industrial setting.
Competencies / Skills Requirements
- Expertise in development and implementation of new NMR methods for detailed structural and compositional analysis of polymers.
- Well versed with relevant statistical tools to evaluate results and inferences.
- Working knowledge of other spectroscopic techniques is highly desirable.
- Good communication skills and self starter.
