STAFFING COORDINATOR LPN or CNA

Are you an experienced professional in long-term care with a talent for organization and scheduling? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator ( LPN or CNA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility. This critical role ensures adequate staffing levels to provide exceptional care to our residents ensuring the highest quality care by maintaining accurate staffing schedules, supporting nursing leadership, and coordinating essential administrative functions. The Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns for the nursing department in accordance with the staffing needs of the facility. This role involves creating staffing schedules, managing shift coverage, assisting in the recruitement process, and maintaining compliance with staffing regulations. The ideal candidate is highly orgainized, proactive, and familiar with the unique staffing needs of a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for the nursing staff including nurses and CNAs.
  • Maintain accurate records of schedules, time- off requests and staffing- related metrics.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure compliance with patient-to-staff ratios and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the departments heads and nursing supervisors to fill open shifts and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Post schedules daily and monitor daily PPD.
  • Respond promptly to last-minute call-offs, absences, or increased census demands by reallocationg or recruiting staff as needed.
  • Ensure proper orientation scheduling for new hires in collaboration with education department.
  • Use staffing and scheduling software ( e.g. shiftkey) to manage staffing operations software efficiently.
  • Accepting calls from the "scheduler phone and potentially covering other shifts.
  • Oversee transporation and central supply staff and their responsibilites to the scheduling department.
  • Collaborate with HR to schedule modified -duty employees in accordance with policy.
  • Works with human resources to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Staffing Coordinator in a long-term care facility
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English language
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Graduate of an accredited high School or GED
  • Computer Knowledge required
  • Certified Nursing License (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) ACTIVE certification
