Stainless steel Fabricator / Welder

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stainless Steel Fabricator / Welder to join our manufacturing team. Ideally time served or with proven history, The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding stainless steel components with precision and attention to detail. Tables, Hoppers, Tanks, and vessels etc, This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality projects that require specialised welding techniques and fabrication skills. Candidates should have a strong understanding of mechanical processes and be comfortable working with various tools and materials. Working in a FMCG on site and Food factories would be beneficial.

Good working hours Mon - Thurs 7am till 3:30pm and Friday 7am till 1:30pm.

Duties

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
  • Fabricate parts using sheet metal, hand tools, power tools, and specialised welding equipment.
  • Cut, shape, and assemble stainless steel parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot fabrication issues and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Measure and mark materials accurately using basic maths skills for precise cutting and assembly.
  • Operate various fabrication machinery, including Bender, Guillotine, Rollers, Saws, grinders, and drills.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area to uphold safety standards.
  • Inspect finished products for defects or imperfections before final assembly or delivery.

Experience

  • Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel, is essential.
  • Proficient in Mig welding and must be to a good standard.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication is required.
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques, including welding symbols and procedures.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks are necessary.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is required.

Pay: £15.00-£17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
