In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and finishing staircases that enhance the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial buildings. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately build staircases tailored to project specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install various components of staircases including stringers, treads, risers, balusters, handrails, and newel posts using hand tools and power tools.
- Ensure precise framing and structural support for stairs by applying skills in woodworking, metal stud framing, and concrete forming as needed.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers to coordinate installation processes seamlessly.
- Perform heavy lifting safely to transport materials like lumber, metal components, and concrete forms across job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the build process to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on staircase construction or related framing work.
- Skilled in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers), power tools (drills, saws), and CNC machinery for fabrication tasks.
- Some understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to staircase design.
- Experience with restoration projects or water damage restoration is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and coordinate with other trades on-site.
Pay: $33.00 - $51.00 per hour
