Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time State Tax Compliance Specialist to support our growing telehealth practice. You will play a crucial role in managing our State Unemployment Insurance (SUI), tax withholding processes, and state-specific compliance tasks, such as obtaining and renewing business licenses. Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations is essential in this role. This is a fully remote position with a flexible schedule, offering the opportunity to balance work and life in a way that works for you.

Your Role in the Team

  • Manage SUI Reporting: Prepare and file State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) reports accurately and timely across multiple states.
  • Oversee Tax Withholding Processes: Ensure employee tax withholdings are correctly calculated and remitted, maintaining compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Manage State-Specific Compliance: Obtain and renew business licenses, manage tax registrations, and ensure compliance with state-specific regulations.
  • Reconcile Payroll Taxes: Regularly reconcile payroll taxes and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Stay Informed on Regulations: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal tax regulations, proactively implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with management to streamline payroll tax processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep thorough documentation for audits and internal reviews, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Assist with Year-End Reporting: Support the preparation of year-end reports, including W-2 forms and other required documentation.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Professional: You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, SUI reporting, tax withholding, and managing state-specific compliance tasks. (Required)
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of SUI regulations, tax compliance requirements, and state-specific business licensing processes. (Required)
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. (Required)
  • Independent Worker: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. (Required)
  • Excellent Communicator: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. (Required)

Schedule
