Apex Steel is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support a structural steel project and pre-engineered metal building project in Moses Lake, WA. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to coordinate project documentation, scheduling, change management, billing, and field support activities.
This position is on-site in Moses Lake and is expected to remain there for up to one year, supporting an active construction project.
Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Project Setup
- Coordinate information from estimating and contract negotiations, including schedules, manpower forecasts, drawings, specifications, and budgets
- Support project setup and communication between office and field teams
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with vendor selection
- Prepare purchase orders as directed by the Project Manager
Submittals & Document Control
- Review submittals for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate field verification and dimensioning as needed
- Submit and track submittals using a Submittal Status Report
Scheduling
- Review GC master schedules and 6-week look-ahead schedules
- Notify the Project Manager and Superintendent of schedule conflicts or revisions
Drawings & Technical Support
- Track and communicate updates to construction and erection drawings
- Navigate drawings to locate information and respond to questions
- Develop familiarity with structural and architectural drawing details
RFIs, Change Orders & Extra Work
- Review RFIs and Construction Change Directives (CCDs)
- Log cost events and coordinate documentation with vendors and subcontractors
- Assist with estimating labor and equipment impacts for smaller changes
- Review Extra Work Orders (EWOs) and process Change Order Requests (CORs)
- Review change orders and assist with budget updates in Sage
Billing & Project Financials
- Assist with monthly billings and GC billing forms
- Coordinate lien releases and project-specific billing documentation
Field & Superintendent Support
- Assist the Superintendent with coordination and field-related tasks as needed
Document Management & Quality Support
- Maintain current project documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals, schedules)
- Support AISC documentation, including Non-Conformance Reports
- Track schedule and cost impacts and submit impact notifications
Project Close-Out
- Assist with outstanding cost issue review
- Prepare as-built documents
- Support warranty letters and project close-out activities
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
