Overview
We are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and design, specifically within the construction and steel fabrication industries. As a Steel Detailer, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models that guide the fabrication and assembly of steel structures.
Duties
- Develop detailed steel fabrication drawings and models using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure design specifications are met.
- Work closely with internal Managers to develop custom design and detailing of various industrial components such as platforms, stairs, railings, crossovers, weldments, fixtures.
- Review construction drawings for detailing.
- Collaborate with internal team members, external engineers, and project managers to ensure design accuracy.
- Review project specifications and make necessary adjustments to designs.
- Prepare shop drawings and erection drawings, and coordinate with production teams.
- Conduct site visits as needed to gather information for detailing.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in resolving any design-related issues that arise during fabrication.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
Qualifications
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam (mandatory).
- Must have 2+ years of college or trade school education in AutoCAD, or 3+ years of practical experience may be substituted for formal training.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of steel detailing practices and standards.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing production environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with construction processes and terminology.
- Pay compensatory with experience. Benefits will be discussed.
- Normal working hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, but occasionally hours may vary depending on the project and job site limitations.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
