Steel Fixer

Overview

We are seeking skilled and experienced Steel Fixers (also known as Rebar Installers) to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing the reinforcing steel bars (rebar) that form the skeleton of concrete structures, ensuring all work meets engineering specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Reading Blueprints: Accurately interpret and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprint specifications to determine the precise placement, dimensions, and quantity of steel reinforcement required.
• Cutting and Bending: Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars using hand tools (e.g., cutters and benders) and hydraulic equipment, ensuring accuracy against project requirements.
• Assembling and Tying: Assemble pre-cut steel reinforcement into cages, mats, or specialized forms (footings, columns, beams, slabs) by tying the intersecting bars together using wire and hand tools or automatic tying machines.
• Placing and Positioning: Safely place and position the assembled steel reinforcement into the concrete formwork, ensuring correct spacing, clearances, and use of concrete spacers or 'chairs' to maintain proper cover.
• Quality Control: Inspect and verify the finished rebar placement to ensure it is structurally sound, stable, and compliant with all project standards and quality specifications before concrete pouring.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all site safety rules, including working at heights, manual handling procedures, and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintenance: Assist in the care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED1,600.00 per month
