Steel fixer

Key Responsibilities1. Reading Drawings & Planning

• Read and interpret structural drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and reinforcement plans
• Understand reinforcement layouts for foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and retaining walls
• Coordinate with site engineers for execution requirements

2. Cutting, Bending & Fixing Rebar

• Cut and bend steel reinforcement bars (rebar) as per approved specifications
• Assemble and fix steel bars accurately according to project drawings
• Tie reinforcement using correct binding techniques and materials

3. Structural Reinforcement Works

• Assemble steel reinforcement for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and retaining structures
• Install steel cages and reinforcement frameworks for concrete pouring
• Ensure correct spacing, alignment, cover, and positioning of steel bars

4. Site Coordination & Execution

• Work closely with site engineers, supervisors, and foremen to ensure accurate execution
• Assist in formwork preparation and coordination with carpentry teams when required
• Support smooth workflow during concrete pouring activities

5. Quality & Safety Compliance

• Inspect completed reinforcement work to ensure compliance with drawings and standards
• Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times

6. Tools & General Site Duties

• Maintain hand tools and equipment in good working condition
• Use rebar cutting, bending, and tying tools efficiently
• Assist in general construction tasks when required on-site

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Steel Fixer in construction projects
• Strong knowledge of rebar fixing techniques and structural reinforcement works
• Ability to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules (preferred)
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor site conditions
• Good understanding of construction safety practices
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from engineers and supervisors
• UAE experience is preferred
