Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings and bar schedules
• Cut, bend, and shape steel bars to required specifications
• Position steel bars and tie them securely using wire or fasteners
• Ensure proper spacing and alignment according to design standards
• Collaborate with concrete pouring teams to ensure timely installation
• Maintain tools, equipment, and safety standards on site
• Inspect installed reinforcement for quality and compliance

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of steel reinforcement techniques and standards
• Ability to read construction drawings and bar schedules
• Skilled in cutting, bending, and tying steel bars
• Physical strength and stamina for lifting, bending, and working outdoors
• Safety awareness (working with heavy steel, scaffolding, and tools)

Work Environment

• Construction sites (residential, commercial, industrial)
• Outdoor work, sometimes at heights or in confined spaces
• Teamwork with carpenters, concrete workers, and engineers
