We Are Hiring – Steel Structural Site Engineer (Oil & Gas Sector)

Role Overview
The Steel Structural Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising and executing structural steel erection and installation activities on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, safety standards, and schedules. The role requires strong experience in structural steel works within Oil & Gas environments, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams and strict adherence to quality and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise erection and installation of structural steel, including columns, beams, trusses, platforms, and pipe racks.
- Ensure all works are carried out as per approved shop drawings, IFC drawings, and method statements.
- Coordinate with fabrication teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, and HSE to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor alignment, leveling, bolting (torque/tensioning), and welding of structural components.
- Ensure compliance with international standards and codes (AISC, BS, ASTM, ISO).
- Liaise with QA/QC for inspections, welding/NDT coordination, and ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Verify that all structural materials and erection equipment meet project specifications and certification requirements.
- Monitor site progress, identify delays, and propose corrective actions to maintain schedule.
- Prepare daily reports on work progress, manpower, equipment, and site activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Structural specialization preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in structural steel erection within Oil & Gas projects (Qatar/GCC preferred).
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (AISC, BS, AWS, ASTM).
- Experience with shop drawings, GA drawings, connection details, and material take-offs.
- Understanding of welding procedures, inspection requirements, and NDT methods.
- Valid H2S training preferred.
