About the Internship

This internship is a hands‑on opportunity for emerging educators, college students, and youth leaders who want real experience teaching STEM, using Apple technology, and working with elementary, middle, and high school students. Interns will train alongside Alicia as part of the Tech & Career Community of Practice, a national initiative supporting out‑of‑school time educators in delivering challenge‑based STEM learning.

Interns will gain practical skills in STEM instruction, technology integration, and youth engagement — all while contributing to meaningful programming for local students.

Position: STEM Teaching & Technology Intern

Commitment: Weekly sessions in April & May 2026
Compensation: Free Crunch Fitness membership + STEM Learning Credential + Technology Training with use of APPLE Ipads for duration of internship
Location: Arlington & Fort Worth, TX

What You’ll Do

Interns will participate in project‑based work that includes:

STEM Teaching & Youth Engagement

  • Assist in facilitating STEM lessons and challenge‑based learning activities with elementary, middle, and high school students
  • Support hands‑on projects related to science communication, AI, space, and emerging technologies
  • Help create an engaging, inclusive learning environment for youth

Technology Training & Curriculum Development

  • Learn to use Apple technology tools (iPad, Apple TV, classroom apps) to support STEM instruction
  • Practice integrating technology into youth programming
  • Help prepare materials, demonstrations, and digital resources for lessons

Professional Learning & Coaching

  • Attend weekly coaching and development sessions in April and May (flexible schedule based on your availability)
  • Learn the Challenge‑Based Learning framework used by ACRES and STEM Next
  • Receive mentorship on classroom management, facilitation, and STEM career‑connected learning

Project‑Based Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of 3 challenge‑based STEM activities with youth
  • Assist with documentation, photos, and reflections for program evaluation
  • Collaborate with the team to improve lesson flow and student engagement
