STEM Instructor

Full-Time STEM Instructor - Creative Hut

CreativeHUT is seeking a Full-Time STEM Instructor to deliver hands-on, high-impact STEAM workshops and activities in schools and communities surrounding South Bend, IN as part of amazing STEM outreach programs.

You’ll engage students, educators, and community groups using innovative educational tools and interactive resources. You’ll be fully supported by our experienced team, including curriculum resources and guidance from our Master Trainers.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role ideal for passionate educators, workshop leaders, or facilitators looking to make a lasting impact through STEAM education.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Delivery & Program Execution

  • Lead in-school workshops using CreativeHUT’s structured STEAM curriculum
  • Facilitate engaging, inquiry-based learning for students aged 6–14
  • Develop & adapt curriculum, lesson plans, or training sessions
  • Deliver outreach sessions at local community events (approx. 2–3 per month)
  • Manage and maintain a variety of STEM resources

Feedback, Reporting & Impact

  • Collect workshop data (student reach, engagement, feedback)
  • Submit reports and support program improvement
  • Maintain a high standard of delivery and participant satisfaction

Collaboration & Representation

  • Act as a CreativeHUT ambassador at schools and events
  • Build and manage strong relationships with educators, school leaders, and community partners
  • Support the Master Trainer and wider team in driving education impact and program expansion

About You:

  • You’re passionate about STEAM and inspiring young minds
  • You love working with children and educators in a hands-on environment
  • You’re a confident and outgoing presenter with classroom or workshop experience
  • You have experience using tools like LEGO Education, Sphero, Ozobot, or similar
  • You take ownership of your time, staying organized, dependable and show great initiative without needing constant direction
  • You’re an excellent problem solver and can adapt when things don’t go as planned
  • You have a Full, valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • You are willing and able to drive company vehicles (Ford Transit Van or Similar)
  • You can occasionally lift/load equipment and are happy traveling locally

Recommended Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who bring a mix of education experience, technical curiosity, and a passion for impact. Ideal candidates will meet most of the following criteria:

Essential

  • 4+ years of experience in education, youth work, workshop facilitation, or similar roles
  • Proven ability to engage children and young people (especially ages 6–14) in hands-on learning
  • Experience delivering structured content (curriculum, lesson plans, or training sessions)
  • Experience developing & adapting curriculum, lesson plans, or training sessions
  • Have experience managing and developing relationships with schools, youth groups or similar organizations
  • Valid Full driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using tablets/laptops and basic AV equipment

Preferred

  • Experience with educational STEAM tools (e.g., LEGO Education SPIKE, Ozobot, Sphero, micro:bit, Scratch)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Engineering, Science, Technology, or related field
  • Experience working in Title I schools or with underserved communities
  • Familiarity with concepts including Engineering Design Process/computational thinking frameworks, and a knowledge of your local school districts and school curricula.

Bonus Attributes

  • Bilingual or multilingual (particularly Spanish or ASL)
  • Experience working in outreach, CSR programs, or educational nonprofits
  • Master’s degree or additional qualifications in STEM fields

Details & Benefits:

Job Type: Full-Time (approx. 40 hours/week)

Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional weekend event work)

Location: Covering regions in and around South Bend, IN

Salary: Range from $40 - 50k depending on experience and qualifications

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
