Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, and physiology, ensuring the safe and efficient sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. As a vital member of the healthcare operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique, inventory management, and compliance with safety protocols to support optimal patient care and operational efficiency.

Duties

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and dental devices following established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition before sterilization
  • Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory logs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to handle specialized instruments used in various dental procedures.
  • Follow strict aseptic techniques during instrument processing to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand instrument needs and prepare surgical packs accordingly.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper handling of biohazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advancements in sterile processing technology and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment is not required. The right personality will be considered.
  • Proficiency in ability to understand and repeat the sterile processing techniques, including cleaning, sterilization, packaging, and storage of dental instruments.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory efficiently and accurately document processes.
  • Ability to understand aseptic techniques and infection control protocols essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and follow detailed procedures precisely.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical teams and other staff members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
