Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product inquiries and recommendations
  • Operate the cash register using POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods
  • Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are properly displayed, labeled, and organized according to merchandising standards
  • Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
  • Upsell related products or promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
  • Assist with inventory management by receiving shipments, stocking new items, and conducting regular stock checks
  • Support merchandising efforts by setting up displays that attract customer attention and promote featured products
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
  • Perform basic retail math for transactions and inventory counts accurately
  • Collaborate with team members on daily tasks to ensure smooth store operations

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations or experience in a grocery environment is advantageous
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory management
  • Excellent phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via digital channels
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell products while maintaining genuine customer care
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as stocking shelves and setting up displays
  • A proactive attitude with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
