Responsibilities

• Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are properly displayed, labeled, and replenished regularly to meet customer demand
• Operate the cash register using POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Assist customers with product inquiries, provide product demos when applicable, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to store merchandising standards and safety guidelines
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and other payment methods with accuracy and professionalism while following proper cash handling procedures
• Support merchandising efforts by organizing stock in storage areas and ensuring products are easy to locate for customers and staff
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers using clear phone etiquette and bilingual skills if applicable
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store setting
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in managing stock or assisting team members
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques, stocking procedures, and grocery store operations
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Enthusiastic about product demos, upselling, and creating engaging shopping experiences that boost sales
