Store Clerk/Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining store operations, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. This role requires effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. The store is in a downtown and touristy location, therefore, weekends and holidays are a must. This does not mean every and all weekends but flexibility is necessary.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions. (will train)
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Maintain stock levels by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise.
  • Engage in retail sales activities, including upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide assistance with returns and exchanges while adhering to store policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer questions or concerns.

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive shopping experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures. (will train)
  • Experience in retail sales with the ability to sell effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing stock and inventory effectively.
  • Proficient phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
