Store Driver

Job Overview:
The Store Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, supplies, and sometimes staff between the store, warehouse, suppliers, and customers. This role ensures timely delivery, maintains vehicle condition, and upholds company safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Transportation and Delivery
• Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods, products, or materials to customers, other stores, or warehouses.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries according to schedules.
• Load and unload goods carefully to prevent damage.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
• Conduct routine checks on the vehicle (oil, water, tires, brakes, lights).
• Report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
• Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and any other documentation required by the company.
• Obtain signatures for deliveries when required.
• Report any incidents or accidents promptly.
• Customer Service and Communication
• Represent the company professionally during deliveries or pickups.
• Communicate any delays, issues, or changes in schedule to the supervisor or customer.
• Assist in basic store duties when necessary (loading/unloading, organizing stock).
• Assisting Store Operations
• Support the store team with errands such as supplier pickups or moving inventory.
• Help with inventory checks or stock movement within the store if needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license (relevant class for vehicle type).
• Safe driving record and knowledge of traffic rules.
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Reliability, punctuality, and good time management.
• Good communication skills and courteous customer interaction.

Working Conditions:

• Driving in varying weather conditions and traffic.
• Handling packages or stock, sometimes heavy.
• Flexible hours depending on delivery schedules.
