The Strategic Communications Consultant supports The Mutual Group’s communication initiatives by developing and executing strategies that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected to the company’s mission and goals. This role manages internal channels such as the intranet and newsletters, creates compelling and consistent content, and partners with departments across the organization to ensure clear, brand-aligned messaging. The Strategic Communications Consultant plays a key role in fostering transparency, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose throughout the organization. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to company-wide strategic initiatives and shape a transparent, connected employee experience.
Accountabilities:
Strategy and Content Creation:
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies that align with company objectives, culture, and values
- Write, edit, and produce various internal communications, including blog posts, newsletters, presentations, and announcements.
- Manage and maintain internal communication channels like the company intranet, blogs, and email platforms.
- Partner with HR, Marketing, and leadership to ensure consistent, aligned, and transparent communication.
- Assist in the planning and organization of company events, meetings, and other employee engagement activities, including presentation materials, etc.
- Ensure brand consistency and adherence to company tone, voice, and style guidelines.
- Track communication performance metrics and employee feedback to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies.
- Support change management and leadership communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment during times of transition or process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (required).
- Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or a related area.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with project planning, content management, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Monday.com, HubSpot, Igloo, SharePoint, Google Analytics, etc.). Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and HTML is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus.
Compensation:
- $69,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibility
