Strategic Communications Specialist

The Strategic Communications Specialist plays a critical role in developing consistent, accurate, and engaging communications across multiple ARRT internal and external channels. This position will participate in creating and executing communication plans and content that link communication objectives, strategies, messages, and tactics with ARRT’s Strategic Communication goals.


The Strategic Communications Specialist is essential to bringing our organization’s Strategic Framework to life. They will work with subject matter experts, employees, and others who work in the field of radiologic technology developing feature and explanatory (technical) content as well as written material that help drive stakeholder awareness and engagement. It includes interviewing subject matter experts, gathering information, researching a topic, analyzing information, and writing content for both internal and external audiences.


Duties and Responsibilities

Develop strategic communication plans, tactics, content, and follow-up reports that meet business needs and drive stakeholder behavior; delivered across multiple internal and external communications channels.

Support the Strategic Communications department strategy of amplifying and responding to voice of the customer, ensuring key stakeholders’ needs, preferences and pain points are addressed.

Partner with team members and business partners to produce high-quality, audience-focused content with an emphasis on writing quality and message consistency.

Manage business partner relationships along with facilitating reviews, approvals, and timelines.

Provide professional guidance and recommendations following ARRT’s Style Guide.

Represent Strategic Communications on various internal committees, workgroups, and project teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Communications, Journalism, or related field

o Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

  • Three to five years of experience in communications, journalism, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in medical, health care, or credentialing industry
  • Experience with Associated Press Stylebook
