The Strategic M&A Deal Lead will lead the identification, structuring, and execution of M&A transactions and strategic partnerships for the organization. You will manage deals from initial sourcing through due diligence, negotiation, and closing, ensuring each transaction is aligned with the group’s strategic objectives and delivers measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Screening
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition, divestiture, and joint‑venture opportunities that align with the organization’s growth and portfolio strategy.
- Build and manage a pipeline of viable M&A and partnership targets across designated sectors and geographies.
- Engage with management teams, brokers, and intermediaries to explore and qualify opportunities.
Due Diligence & Transaction Execution
- Lead cross‑functional due diligence across financial, commercial, operational, and legal areas.
- Prepare investment memos, valuation analyses, and business cases for senior management and Board approval.
- Coordinate with legal, tax, finance, and operations to structure transactions, negotiate terms, and ensure timely closing.
Strategic Alignment & Value Case
- Translate deal opportunities into clear strategic and financial value cases, including synergy and integration scenarios.
- Ensure each deal is consistent with the group’s long‑term strategy, risk appetite, and capital‑allocation framework.
- Support integration planning and handover to operating teams where relevant.
Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Present M&A opportunities, deal progress, and risks to senior management, Board, and investor‑linked stakeholders.
- Manage internal governance and approval workflows for transactions, including committees and committees.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders during the execution of each deal.
Methodology & Best Practices
- Contribute to the development and refinement of M&A playbooks, diligence checklists, and valuation templates.
- Standardize processes to improve efficiency and quality across the organization’s M&A and partnership activities.
- Monitor market trends and deal‑activity in your sector to inform the organization’s M&A strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced finance/strategy qualification is a strong plus.
Professional Background
- 6–10+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy consulting, with a proven track record on executed deals.
- Hands‑on experience leading or heavily contributing to end‑to‑end M&A or partnership transactions, including negotiation and closing.
- Experience in the GCC/Middle East region, particularly in Doha or Qatar‑linked mandates, is highly advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, synergy analysis).
- Solid understanding of M&A process, legal and commercial terms, and governance requirements.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, able to communicate clearly with senior executives.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple parallel deals and tight deadlines.
Pay: QAR40.00 - QAR45.00 per hour
