Internship Location: Memphis, TN

Setting: Hybrid: Monday – Thursday Onsite, Friday Remote Flexibility

Duration: May 25, 2026 – August 8, 2026

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week

Internship Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Intern will support the Sourcing team by assisting in the identification, evaluation, and selection of suppliers, while contributing to initiatives that drive cost savings, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiencies. The role offers practical, project-based learning in the automotive aftermarket industry with opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally, develop analytical skills, and present impactful recommendations to sourcing leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Research & Analysis: Conduct market research on potential and existing suppliers, benchmarking costs, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing data on pricing, contracts, and supplier performance; quantify savings opportunities.
  • RFI/RFP/RFQ Support: Draft and issue requests to suppliers, evaluate responses, and contribute to sourcing strategy development.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Help coordinate communications, meetings, and performance reviews with suppliers.
  • Contract Management: Support review of agreements for compliance with company policies and assist in negotiation preparation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing workflows, including automation and reporting enhancements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Category Management, Finance, Operations, and Legal to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Project Support: Contribute to cost-saving initiatives, supplier rationalization programs, and sourcing dashboards.
  • Final Presentation: Prepare and deliver an end-of-internship presentation to leadership summarizing findings, results, and recommendations.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Qlik preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in procurement, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing.

Minimum Experience and Education

  • Junior or Senior standing in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Previous coursework or internship experience in procurement or supply chain preferred.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher recommended.
