Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Street Lighting Engineer, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.
You will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient street lighting across our network.
We envisage success in this role to include;

Working with outsourced agencies, consultants, and contractors on the installation and maintenance of streetlights (including poles and new installations).

Helping prepare work schedules for major projects, set priorities, and ensure the right allocation of materials, equipment, and personnel.

Coordinating with engineers from other zones to keep road lighting activities consistent and well aligned.

Assigning tasks to maintenance teams based on urgency and importance, especially for critical repairs.

Supervising and guiding outsourced contractors, ensuring their work meets client standards before signing off.

Carrying out site inspections, support fieldwork, and prepare reports on maintenance activities.

Making sure incidents, emergencies, and public complaints related to road lighting are resolved quickly by contractors or in-house teams.

Supporting the design team by resolving design-related issues and suggesting improvements when needed.

Assessing lighting conditions, perform calculations, and recommend the best solutions for problem areas.

Ensuring all maintenance works meet technical standards and that corrective measures are taken when necessary.

Planning preventive and routine maintenance on a quarterly, yearly, and long-term basis, following asset management standards.

Monitoring contractor performance to ensure they meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Liaising with the police to identify accident-prone or high-risk areas needing lighting repairs or upgrades.

Providing feedback to the Asset Affairs team on the condition of lighting systems and suggest any improvements.

Checking project sites regularly to ensure progress is on track and work complies with design, safety, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of relevant experience in Street Lighting Sector, supervising a team and managing contractors to deliver required performance standards, partnered with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or relevant, from an accredited University or College program.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East.
Strong knowledge of road design, approaches, and related tools.
Experience in design review and construction of street lighting projects is preferred.
Knowledge of traffic management (guarding and signing of excavations) is preferred.
Understanding of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and regulations.
Competent in Microsoft Office packages.

Fluent in English (verbal and written) is mandatory; Arabic is preferred.
